1. About Dog Friendly

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Dog Friendly services.

Dog Friendly is owned and operated by Dog Friendly Oy, a company registered in Finland under Business ID 3590920-6 (“Dog Friendly”).

​

These Terms apply to:

• the Dog Friendly website, and

• the Dog Friendly mobile application (together referred to as the “Service”).
   

Dog Friendly provides an informational service designed to help people discover places where dogs may be welcome.

​

The Service currently focuses on places and services located in Finland.

​

For the purposes of these Terms:

• "Places" may include restaurants, cafés, shops, parks, beaches, attractions and other locations listed through the Service.

• "Services” may include veterinary clinics, dog daycare providers, groomers, dog trainers and schools, dog forests, hotels and other dog-related or dog-relevant services.

• "Listings” refers collectively to Places and Services displayed through the Service.

Categories and listing types available through the Service may change or expand over time.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Nature of the Service

Dog Friendly provides informational guidance only.

​

The Service is provided solely for general informational purposes and should not be relied upon as definitive or authoritative.

The Service does not constitute legal, regulatory, professional, veterinary, medical, safety, hygiene or other professional advice.

 

Information available through the Service may be based on:

• publicly available sources,

• third-party services (including mapping services such as Google Maps),

• information provided by businesses or service providers,

• user contributions and observations.

Listings may contain information including, but not limited to, location, opening hours, dog policies, amenities, services offered, contact information, photographs, categories and other listing-specific details.

​

Dog Friendly does not guarantee that such information is accurate, complete, current or applicable in every circumstance.

​

In particular, information concerning veterinary clinics or other animal-care providers is provided solely to help users discover relevant services. Dog Friendly does not provide veterinary advice, assess or recommend treatments, determine whether a particular provider is appropriate for an animal, or guarantee the qualifications, availability, quality, safety or suitability of any service provider.

Users remain responsible for selecting an appropriate provider and seeking qualified professional advice where necessary.

​

Users assume full responsibility for any decisions made based on information available through the Service. Users acknowledge that all information is provided for convenience only and should be independently verified before relying upon it.

 

3. Listing Status Labels

Dog Friendly uses informational labels solely to indicate how information about a Place or Service has been obtained. These labels are provided for transparency purposes only and do not constitute verification of legal compliance, guarantees, certifications, approvals or endorsements of any kind.

 

Dog Friendly does not conduct inspections, audits, site visits, compliance reviews, or independent assessments of listed Places or Services unless expressly stated otherwise.

Dog Friendly Partner

A Place or Service may be marked as a “Dog Friendly Partner” when the relevant business or service provider has created a Dog Friendly business account through the Service.

Dog Friendly Partners may receive access to business features made available by Dog Friendly from time to time, including but not limited to profile and listing management tools, editing capabilities, statistics, promotional opportunities, visibility features, social media exposure, newsletter inclusion and other business-related functionalities.

Becoming a Dog Friendly Partner is currently free and can be completed directly through the Dog Friendly mobile application.

Dog Friendly Partner status is intended for businesses and service providers that wish to actively participate in the Dog Friendly network. While participation is currently free of charge, Partners are expected to reasonably cooperate with Dog Friendly in maintaining the quality, accuracy and visibility of the Partner network. This may include keeping listing information reasonably up to date, responding to reasonable Partner-related communications, confirming continued participation when requested, and cooperating with reasonable Partner initiatives or visibility measures from time to time.

Participation as a Dog Friendly Partner does not constitute endorsement, certification, guarantee of visibility, guarantee of customer traffic, or any form of commercial partnership unless expressly agreed in writing.

Dog Friendly reserves the right to introduce optional paid business features, premium partner services, advertising products, promotional services, enhanced visibility features, analytics tools or other paid offerings in the future.

Verified

A Place or Service may be marked as “Verified” when Dog Friendly has received direct confirmation from the relevant business or service provider, whether verbally, in writing, by email, social media message, telephone communication or another direct communication method, confirming relevant information about the listing.

For Places, this may include confirmation that dogs are permitted at the location. For Services, verification may relate to the existence of the service, its dog-related offering or other listing information communicated directly by the provider.

Verified businesses do not receive access to Dog Friendly Partner features unless they separately create a Dog Friendly business account.

The term “Verified” refers only to the receipt of information and does not imply independent verification, legal validation, professional accreditation, endorsement, certification or ongoing monitoring.

 

Community Added

A Place or Service may be marked as “Community Added” when it has been suggested or added by users or identified through publicly available information without direct confirmation from the relevant business or service provider.

Dog Friendly acts solely as an intermediary platform that displays information from third-party and user-generated sources.

​​​

These labels:

• indicate only the source or method by which information has been obtained,

• do not imply accuracy, completeness, legality, or current validity of the information,

• do not constitute a recommendation, endorsement or approval of any Place, Service, business, provider or its practices,

• may relate to information that is incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or subject to change at any time.

Dog Friendly does not independently verify all information and makes no representations or warranties regarding:

• whether dogs are permitted at a Place,

• the conditions under which dogs are allowed,

• the availability, nature or suitability of a Service,

• the qualifications, licences, registrations or regulatory status of a service provider,

• compliance with applicable laws, regulations, professional requirements or hygiene requirements,

• the safety, suitability, quality or practices of any listed Place or Service.

 

Dog Friendly has no obligation to monitor, validate or update listing information on an ongoing basis.

 

Businesses and service providers remain solely responsible for their own policies, operations, qualifications, registrations, services and compliance with applicable laws and professional requirements.

Users are solely responsible for verifying all relevant information directly with the Place or Service provider before visiting, purchasing, booking or otherwise relying on the information provided.

​

Users assume full responsibility for any decisions made based on information available through the Service.

​

Dog Friendly is not responsible for the conduct, policies, compliance, services or actions of any listed business or provider, regardless of how it is labelled.

 

To the fullest extent permitted by Finnish and EU law, Dog Friendly disclaims liability for any loss, damage or inconvenience arising from:

• reliance on label classifications,

• inaccuracies or omissions in listing information,

• changes in policies, services, availability or conditions,

• or any interactions with a listed business or service provider.

4. Internet Requirement

An active internet connection may be required to access some or all features of the Service.

​

Listing information, maps, updates and other functionality are accessed online and may not be available offline.

​

Dog Friendly is not responsible for issues caused by connectivity problems, network interruptions, or outages of third-party services.

​

Dog Friendly does not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous, or error-free availability of the Service.

​

5. Data Sources and Third-Party Information

Information concerning Places and Services may be sourced from:

• publicly available online information,

• third-party services such as Google Maps,

• user contributions,

• business or service-provider information.

This information may include location data, map information, categories, opening hours, contact information, dog policies, amenities, services offered, photographs and other listing details.

Dog Friendly does not control third-party data and does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, availability or continued accuracy.

​

Map markers, addresses and location information may be based on third-party mapping data or information submitted to Dog Friendly and may not always identify an exact or current location.

​

6. Community Contributions

Users may submit or suggest Places, Services and information relating to listings.

​

Users submitting information agree to provide information in good faith and not knowingly submit false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, infringing or inappropriate content.

​

Dog Friendly does not guarantee the accuracy of community-submitted information and may review, edit, reclassify, reject or remove submitted content at its discretion.

​

Submission of a Place or Service does not guarantee that it will be published or remain available through the Service.

​​

7. Intended Use and Accounts

The Service is intended for general informational use.

​​

By using the Service, you agree to:

• use information responsibly,

• verify relevant details directly with businesses or service providers where necessary,

• comply with applicable laws and the policies or requirements of Places and Services.

Some functionality may be available without an account, while certain features of the Service may require users or businesses to create an account.

​

Users and businesses are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity occurring under their account.

​

Users and businesses agree to provide accurate information and to keep such information reasonably up to date.

​

Dog Friendly reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used in a manner that may harm the Service, other users, businesses, or third parties.

8. Use by Dog Owners

If you use the Service as a dog owner, you agree to:

• confirm relevant policies and information before visiting a Place or using a Service,

• behave responsibly and respectfully with your dog,

• comply with hygiene, safety, legal and provider requirements,

• ensure your dog is appropriately supervised and under control at all times.

Dog Friendly is not responsible for:

• access decisions made by Places or service providers,

• the availability or suitability of any Service,

• user experiences at Places or with service providers,

• any consequences arising from visits, bookings, purchases, treatments or interactions with businesses or service providers.

​

Dog Friendly does not guarantee that a Place will admit a user, their dog or any accompanying person at any particular time, or that a Service will accept, be available to, or be appropriate for a particular dog.

​

Access, availability and service decisions remain solely at the discretion of the relevant business or provider and may change without notice.

​

9. Use by Businesses and Service Providers

Businesses and service providers may participate in the Service by creating a Dog Friendly business account and becoming a Dog Friendly Partner.

 

Dog Friendly Partners may access business features made available by Dog Friendly from time to time, including but not limited to:

• claiming and managing their Place or Service listing,

• editing business information,

• updating descriptions, dog policies, amenities, services, opening hours and contact details,

• adding photographs and website or social media links,

• accessing business tools, statistics and management features where available,

• receiving visibility opportunities through the Dog Friendly platform.

Visibility opportunities may include, but are not limited to:

• featured placement within the Dog Friendly application,

• promotional announcements within the application,

• mentions in Dog Friendly newsletters,

• features on Dog Friendly social media channels,

• other promotional opportunities made available by Dog Friendly from time to time.

 

Participation as a Dog Friendly Partner is currently free of charge.

​

Partner Participation and Cooperation

Dog Friendly Partner status is intended to represent an active relationship between Dog Friendly and the participating business or service provider.
While Partner participation is currently provided free of charge, Partners are expected to reasonably cooperate with Dog Friendly in maintaining and developing the Partner network. Such cooperation may include:

• keeping business and listing information reasonably accurate and up to date,

• responding within a reasonable time to communications directly concerning the business's Partner status, listing or participation in the Partner programme,

• confirming, when reasonably requested, that the business wishes to continue as a Dog Friendly Partner,

• informing Dog Friendly of material changes affecting the business's listing or dog-friendly policies, and

• reasonably cooperating with Partner identification or Partner-programme initiatives intended to maintain the visibility, accuracy or integrity of the Partner network from time to time.

Dog Friendly may provide Partners with physical or digital Partner materials, including stickers, signs, graphics, promotional materials or other Partner identifiers. Such materials may be provided free of charge or subject to separate conditions as communicated at the time they are offered. Where physical Partner materials are provided free of charge, Partners are expected to make reasonable use of them for their intended purpose where practicable.
Participation in any particular optional promotional campaign, marketing activity or paid service is not required in order to retain Dog Friendly Partner status unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Dog Friendly may periodically ask a Partner to confirm its continued participation in the Partner programme.
Dog Friendly may suspend or remove Dog Friendly Partner status where a business or service provider:

• no longer meets the applicable Partner requirements,

• no longer wishes to participate,

• provides materially inaccurate or misleading information,

• materially or repeatedly fails to comply with these Terms; or

• repeatedly fails to respond to reasonable communications concerning its Partner status or continued participation.

Where reasonably practicable, Dog Friendly will contact the Partner before suspending or removing Partner status and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond, update relevant information or confirm continued participation.

Removal of Dog Friendly Partner status does not necessarily require removal of the underlying Place or Service listing from the Service. The listing may remain available under another applicable listing status.

Dog Friendly reserves the right to introduce optional paid business features, premium services, advertising products, enhanced visibility opportunities, analytics tools, subscriptions, promotional services, or other paid offerings in the future.

​

Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, franchise, employment, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary relationship, or other legal relationship between Dog Friendly and any business or service provider.

​

Participation as a Dog Friendly Partner does not:

• guarantee visibility, promotion, customer traffic, business results, revenue, or engagement,

• constitute certification, endorsement, recommendation, approval, professional accreditation or verification by Dog Friendly,

• create a commercial agreement unless expressly agreed in writing.

 

Visibility opportunities, promotional activities, featured placements, newsletter mentions, social media exposure and similar benefits are provided at Dog Friendly's discretion and may vary between businesses, locations, service providers, campaigns and time periods.

Businesses and service providers remain solely responsible for:

• the accuracy of information they provide,

• maintaining any licences, registrations, qualifications, insurance or authorisations required for their activities,

• compliance with applicable laws, regulations and professional requirements,

• their own operations, services, products, policies, treatments and customer interactions.

 

Dog Friendly reserves the right to:

• edit, update, reclassify, suspend, restrict, or remove listings,

• modify or discontinue business features,

• update information based on new information, user feedback, or publicly available sources,

• suspend, restrict or terminate business access where necessary for legal, operational, technical, security or service-related reasons.

Dog Friendly may also create, maintain or use non-public listings, test listings, categories, accounts or other content for development, testing, administration or quality-control purposes. Such content may not be visible to general users and does not necessarily represent an active or publicly available Place or Service.

10. Free Use and Future Features

Dog Friendly is currently available free of charge for both dog owners and businesses. 

 

Dog Friendly reserves the right to introduce optional paid features, premium services, subscriptions, promotional services, business tools, advertising products, or other paid offerings in the future.

 

Dog Friendly may modify, limit, discontinue, remove, reclassify, or place restrictions on features currently offered free of charge at its discretion.

 

Any future paid offerings will be clearly communicated before charges apply and may be subject to additional terms.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, downloading the application, creating an account, and accessing the core functionality of the Service will remain free of charge.

 

Users and businesses are under no obligation to purchase any future paid features.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, structure, text, design, logos and functionality of the Service, excluding third-party data and content provided by businesses, service providers or users, are the property of Dog Friendly Oy or its licensors.

​

No rights or licences are granted to users except as required by law. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or otherwise use Dog Friendly content without prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

​

Content provided by businesses, service providers or other rights holders remains the property of the respective owner or rights holder.

​

By submitting content to Dog Friendly, users and businesses confirm that they have the necessary rights to submit that content and grant Dog Friendly the rights reasonably necessary to display, process and use it for operation of the Service.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party providers, including mapping services, app distribution platforms, notification services and other technical service providers.

​

Dog Friendly is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, functionality or content of third-party services.

​

Use of such services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

​

Third-party services may change, become unavailable or experience interruptions outside Dog Friendly's control.

​

13. Notifications and Service Communications

Dog Friendly may provide users with service-related communications, including notifications concerning application updates, technical changes, account matters, security, new functionality or other information relating to use of the Service.

 

Where applicable, push notifications depend on the user's device permissions and notification settings and may be enabled or disabled through the relevant device settings.

​

Certain communications necessary for account operation, security, email verification or other essential Service functionality may be sent where permitted or required.

​

Marketing communications and newsletters are handled in accordance with applicable law, user choices and Dog Friendly's Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

​

While reasonable efforts are made to keep information up to date, Dog Friendly does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or reliability of information provided through the Service.

 

Use of the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

​

Dog Friendly makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

​

Dog Friendly does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or continuously available.

 

15. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Finnish and EU law, Dog Friendly is not liable for:

• denied access to Places,

• changes in Place or Service policies,

• unavailability or changes to Services,

• reliance on information provided through the Service,

• decisions made regarding a service provider or professional,

• any loss, damage or inconvenience arising from use of the Service,

• interactions between users, businesses, service providers or third parties.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence.​​
